Sunday 28th April 2019 Drive it Day

The date is set each year as close as possible to commemorate the anniversary of the 1000 Mile Trial of 1900. This event was organised by the Automobile Club starting from London and passing through Bristol, Birmingham, Derby, Manchester, Kendal, Carlisle, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and back to London; starting in London 65 vehicles set off, by Edinburgh there were still 51 vehicles running and 35 made it back to London. Look out for local events near you or just go out anyway in your bubble to commemorate this day.

6th to 9th June 2019 30th Northern Micro Car Rally (Micro Maniacs) Annual event (Thurs – Sunday)

at  Bubble Car Museum Langrick near Boston PE22 7AW

FRIDAY departing Bubble Car museum 10.30 am

Road run to a model car museum and Scalextrick track at Mumby plus Farmer Brown's Ice cream parlour at Huttoft and a paddle on the beach if weather permitting, this run is a little more challenging as it takes us from the flat fens over the Lincolnshire Wolds and back via a different route.

SATURDAY again departing at 10.30 am

Road run to Springfields festival gardens and shopping outlet (For the ladies ) sorry I've been unable to negotiate any concession on parking there (£1 first hour £2 rest of stay pay at machine when leaving )on leaving there at 1.30 PM we travel across a very flat fen area to Heckington Windmill ,Lovely tea rooms in the millers house and best of all Brewery (I have arranged a Brewery tour for approx 2.30pm buy your beer there for after the Agm meeting later.that evening?) We will leave there approx 4.30pm heading back to the Bubble car museum across country arriving back for roughly 6.oopm allowing time to freshen up prior to the Agm meeting at 7pm prompt please.


If any one wishes weather permitting, leaving again at 10.30am the same as last year, by following me to Woodhall Spa we will attend the Petwood Hotel(former 617 Squadron Dambusters officers mess )for morning coffee ,a beautiful hotel with lots of history and lovely gardens.


Any one wishing to eat after the agm (normally a lovely buffet at a very reasonable price provided by Paula ,Wendy and Mike at the museum )please let them know Friday evening if possible at the latest so they can cater accordingly for us all.

at Steps Farm, North Newton, Somerset TA7 0BL. The event will be hosted by Malcolm McKay (Classic Rally Press) organiser of the Liège-Brescia-Liège rally and Micro Marathon. There will be road runs on Friday, and Saturday with the traditional display and prize giving on the Sunday.
